How long does installation take?

Most installations are completed in 2–3 hours in a single visit. We handle everything from start to finish — you don't need to do anything to prepare.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Yes, someone 18 or older needs to be home to provide access to the utility area and sign off on the completed work. We'll walk you through the system before we leave.

What happens on installation day?

Our technician arrives on time, installs and tests your system, walks you through how to operate it, and leaves your space clean. There are no surprises — pricing is agreed on before we schedule.

How soon can I get an installation scheduled?

We typically schedule within a few days of your request, depending on availability. Select your system and preferred date on our Pricing page and we'll confirm within 1 business day.

Do I pay anything before installation?

No. You don't pay until your installation is complete and you're satisfied. There's no deposit required.

Systems & Pricing

How much does a water softener installation cost?

Our systems are priced transparently on our Pricing page. The Essential system is designed for homeowners who may move within 5 years; the Plus system is built for long-term homeowners with a higher-end control valve. Both prices include professional installation — no hidden fees.

What's the difference between the Essential and Plus systems?

Both systems use American-made softeners with reliable Clack control valves — no imports. The Plus system uses a premium valve with a longer expected lifespan, making it the better long-term investment if you're staying in your home. The Essential is a great value option for shorter-term ownership.

What size system do I need — 48K, 64K, or 80K?

Size is based on household size: 48K for 2–4 people, 64K for 5–6 people, and 80K for 7 or more. If you're in Eagle Mountain, Herriman, or East Bountiful — areas with especially hard water — we recommend sizing up one level.

Does hard water actually cause damage?

Yes. Hard water deposits scale inside pipes, water heaters, and appliances over time — reducing efficiency and shortening their lifespan. You'll also notice it as spots on dishes and glasses, dry skin and hair, and soap that doesn't lather well. A water softener eliminates all of that.

Do you also install reverse osmosis or whole-house carbon filter systems?

Yes. We offer a whole-house carbon filter and two reverse osmosis options for drinking water. These can be added during your initial installation or scheduled separately. See our Pricing page for details.

Service & Maintenance

Do you service water softeners you didn't install?

Yes. We service all brands and models. Whether you need a valve rebuild, resin replacement, diagnostics, or just a salt refill, we can help. Use the Service & Repair option on our Pricing page to request a visit.

How often does a water softener need salt?

It depends on your household size and water hardness, but most homes need salt added every 6–8 weeks. We offer salt delivery and refill service so you never have to haul bags yourself.

What ongoing maintenance does a water softener need?

The main ongoing task is keeping the brine tank filled with salt. Beyond that, we recommend a professional check every 1–2 years to inspect the resin bed, valves, and settings. We'll remind you when it's time.

How do I schedule a service or repair call?

About Your Water

How hard is the water in Northern Utah?

Northern Utah has some of the hardest water in the country — typically ranging from 15 to 25+ grains per gallon (gpg) depending on your city. Areas like Eagle Mountain, Herriman, and East Bountiful are on the harder end of that range, which is why we recommend sizing up one level for those locations.

Is softened water safe to drink?

Yes, for most people softened water is perfectly safe. The softening process replaces calcium and magnesium with a small amount of sodium — the increase is minimal and well within safe limits. If you'd prefer, a reverse osmosis system at your kitchen sink removes the sodium and provides purified drinking water.
